Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is Canada’s largest union, with 700,000 members across the country. CUPE represents workers in health care, emergency services, education, early learning and child care, municipalities, social services, libraries, utilities, transportation, airlines and more.

Canadian Labour Congress (CLC)

The Canadian Labour Congress is the largest labour organization in Canada, bringing together dozens of national and international unions, provincial and territorial federations of labour and community-based labour councils to represent more than 3 million workers across the country.

Calgary and District Labour Council (CDLC)

The Calgary and District Labour Council (CDLC) is the local organization of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) at the city level. The CLC represents more than 3 million unionized workers across Canada. The Labour Council is comprised of Calgary union locals who are affiliated with the CLC.

Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL)

The Alberta Federation of Labour is a voluntary association of unions and employee organizations that have banded together to achieve common goals specific to labour in Alberta.

Calgary Alliance for the Common Good

The Calgary Alliance for the Common Good is a non-partisan and non-profit alliance of congregations, unions, school and community groups in Calgary representing more than 35,000 people. These organizations came together to form the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good in order to organize the power of our communities to shape a just and compassionate city.

Calgary’s Future

Calgary’s Future seeks to find, support, and elect community leaders who share the vision for a resilient economy, quality city services, responsible spending, and strong neighbourhoods.

Alberta Municipal Employees Committee (AMEC)

The Municipal Employees’ committee works to plan bargaining strategy, public relations campaigns and government lobby efforts, as well as acting as an avenue for locals to keep each other informed of their activities.

CUPE Calgary District Council (CCDC)

CUPE District Councils are groups of CUPE locals from a particular region that work together on common issues. Their work includes community projects, political action at the local level, bargaining support and the promotion of strong public services and other CUPE ideals.
